It all started when I was 14 in 8th grade. I built my very first cutting board, and that’s when I realized how much I loved woodworking. My grandparents even cleared out part of their garage so I could set up a space to work, and from there, I just kept building. What started as a fun hobby quickly turned into something way bigger than I could’ve imagined.
Over the past year, my small woodworking project has turned into a full business, and now at 15, Leer Homestead is growing and thriving. I make cutting boards and charcuterie boards that are all handmade and custom designed. Each one is crafted with care and attention to detail, and I love knowing that something I made is going to be a part of someone’s home.
Just recently, we applied for an LLC, which is a huge step for the business. I never thought this would get so big, but it has, and I’m really excited about where it’s headed. What I do now is a mix of passion, hard work, and a little bit of luck, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Leer Homestead.
Thanks so much to everyone who’s supported me along the way — it means the world. If you’re looking for a custom cutting board or charcuterie board, I’d love for you to check out what I make and see for yourself! handmade wooden cutting board handcrafted cutting boards
